Established in 2009, SplitmediaLabs Limited, the company behind both VCam and XSplit, has been at the forefront of revolutionizing visual communication. Our flagship product, XSplit Broadcaster, has simplified the creation of professional, TV-quality broadcasts on the Internet. This application became popular worldwide and played a significant role in the growth of the video game live-streaming industry. In 2018, we broadened our horizons and product portfolio with the introduction of VCam and XSplit Connect: Webcam, marking our successful entry into the fields of machine learning and mobile applications.
In 2016, anticipating the growing competition in the gaming industry, we strategically expanded our portfolio by acquiring additional intellectual properties (IPs) and developing the innovative VCam app, a tool for background removal built upon our proprietary AI technology. With the onset of the pandemic crisis in 2020, when remote work became the norm, we saw a surge in demand for privacy-enhancing solutions like VCam. Recognizing the need to succeed in both the gaming and enterprise markets, we understood the importance of diversifying our focus. This led us to the strategic decision to spin off VCam, giving it its own dedicated platform and team. The result was VCam.ai, the perfect home for our innovative background removal app, VCam!
