Introducing the all new VCam for Windows Beta

Several months after the release of the beta version for Mac, we are delighted to announce the beta release of the all new VCam for Windows. With its sleek new interface, improved performance, and significantly better background removal models, this release marks the beginning of our future plans for a privacy first meeting companion app.

Showcasing an upgraded user interface, this latest release tackles various challenges, introduces a suite of new and thrilling features, enhances accessibility, and lays the foundation for team collaboration and Workspaces within VCam. Behind the scenes, we've also made substantial enhancements! Completely re-engineered, our development and build processes have been refined for enhanced efficiency, we've boosted VCam's performance, and devised a more precise model for background removal.

Over the next few weeks, we will be continuously pushing out updates across both Windows and Mac, before a full release on both platforms. Your feedback is very important at this stage, and can be sent via our Slack community, or by clicking the “Send feedback” option inside the app. We read and engage with every comment, so don’t hold back!

How do I go back to the old VCam.ai Windows version?

This beta version will install on top of your existing VCam.ai Windows installation. If you wish to go back to the old version, you can do so by uninstalling the beta application and downloading the latest Windows version on the Dashboard.

I’m coming from XSplit VCam, where’s my license?

We’re still working on a migration path for you to use your existing license. In the meantime, we’ve removed all watermark restrictions from the beta version of the app so that you can get the full experience of VCam.

What’s different about this new version?

VCam for Windows is built using an entirely new architectural core, and offers a refreshed user experience along with better performing and more accurate background removal models.

How do I update from XSplit VCam?

Simply download VCam by creating an account on VCam.ai, and install on top of your existing XSplit VCam build.

Is this version a beta build?

Absolutely! The current iteration of VCam might present certain challenges and might not entirely adhere to the constraints of your Workspace. It's possible that it isn't perfected in every aspect and is under ongoing enhancement. This phase is integral to our testing procedure, and your invaluable input will aid us in refining and enhancing the app comprehensively.

How do I use VCam?

Select “VCam.ai Camera” from the list of available webcams in your meeting software. You may need to launch VCam before you launch your web browser or target application in order to select VCam as your camera.
